A place we own. A lifelong dream we got to buy.

I'm Britney Jo. My husband Adam and I bought Adobe Creek Ranch in April 2022 — and the honest truth is, he found it. This isn't our house. It's a place we own and a lifelong dream we got to buy. We put our touch on it, our love into it, and then we opened the gate to guests.

"Out of the blue, Adam sent me a ranch listing in Fredericksburg. I had no idea he was even looking. One tour later, we both knew it was the one."

The 25 acres came with the windmill, the mesquite, and the view from the stargazing deck at ten o'clock at night that makes you understand why people move to the Hill Country and never leave. We spent the next 60 days planning each room and sourcing the furniture — the Living Room in the Main House, the primary bedroom, the Cowgirl Cabin, the Barn House. Every single piece.

There was a contractor. There was fresh paint, and we added a bathroom. There were Facebook Marketplace treasure hunts every night — beds, couches, forks, wine glasses, we sourced it all. For two months, every weekend was spent setting the place up, with two babies in tow and a lot of help from friends and family.

By July 2022, Adobe Creek Ranch was open for bookings. The first guests arrived, and the ranch started doing what we'd hoped it would do — host people who needed a weekend away from the city and give them a real Texas ranch to come home to at the end of the day.

Then came the freeze. February 2024, the pipes burst, and we had to close the property for three months. It was the kind of thing that makes you question the whole plan. But the silver lining is the one we tell guests about now: it gave us the chance to fully renovate the Barn House and the living space from the studs out. A new kitchen. A new layout. New floors. And it came back better than it was before.

"Silver lining: it gave us a chance to fully renovate the barnhouse and living space. And now it's better than ever."

What you'll find when you arrive: 25 acres, three structures, 15 guests across six bedrooms, eight beds, and four bathrooms. A private pool, a hot tub, a custom fire pit, and a stargazing deck that earns its name after the sun goes down.

We're still working on the place, and we post the in-progress stuff on Instagram (@adobecreek_ranch) because we think that's part of the story. This isn't a corporate rental, and it isn't our house — it's a family-owned ranch that we pour our love into and hand over for your weekend. That's what you're walking into when you stay here.

The way we think about it: Adobe Creek Ranch is the basecamp. Fredericksburg — the restaurants, the shops, the wineries, Main Street, Enchanted Rock — is the excursion. You go into town for the afternoon and come home to a real Texas ranch. That's the promise, and it's the part we designed the whole property around.

We're thrilled to share our little corner of the Hill Country with you. Come stay for a weekend. Let the city fall away.

Britney Jo review — mostly polish, not rewrite: The "our home" framing has been removed everywhere on this page per Adam's correction — Adobe Creek Ranch is a property the family owns and puts their love into, not a house they live in. Next pass: family photos. Adam is dropping phone shots of the kids at the ranch (goat pen, swings, cornhole in the sun porch, dad-and-daughter in the cabin, family selfie under string lights) into site/images/original/adam-phone/. Once those land we'll wire a family gallery section on this page. Flag: pull quotes still talk about Adam in the third person from BJ's POV — if that tonal shift feels off tell us and we'll rewrite.

Mostly bigger groups. Usually celebrating something.

The calendar is full of family reunions, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, weddings, and the occasional group of hunters. Most weekends it's a bigger group of friends or an extended family. Everybody comes for the same reason: they want Fredericksburg close, and they want a real Texas ranch to come back to when the day is done.

"In 3+ years we've hosted family reunions, bach parties, weddings, and more."

A direct line to the host. And a better rate.

When you book Adobe Creek Ranch through Airbnb, the platform takes 14-17% on top of what we charge. That's not us — that's them. When you book directly through this site, we pass most of that savings back to you, and we get to host you the way we actually want to: a direct email from Britney Jo, the house manual we send ahead of time, the way we handle early check-in when the property is ready.

Direct-booking guests save 5-8% over Airbnb, get priority on peak-season dates, and stay in touch with us after the booking instead of through a ticket system.

A few things that matter to us

The property stays the property

We don't rent pieces of it. The whole 25 acres and all three houses are yours during your stay. No other guests, no shared spaces, no "hosts on site" awkwardness.

We over-communicate before, not after

You get the house manual, driving directions, and the Wi-Fi password a few days before arrival. If the question comes up, we already answered it.

We treat the pool and hot tub like a promise

They get checked before every single stay. If something's off when you arrive, we make it right before you unpack.

We leave you alone on purpose

You came here to unplug. Unless you need us, you won't hear from us during your stay — and we mean that kindly.

Come stay with us for a weekend.

You'll know the right weekend to book when you see the calendar. Your family will too.
